Kalari Vinyasa – Awakening the Instinctual Body
Experience a dynamic introduction to the ancient Indian martial art form kalaripayattu, or kalari, and its shared roots within yoga and Ayurveda. We'll explore the fluid spiral strength of kalari, which includes Shiva's integration with Prana Flow vinyasa forms for awakening our instinctual body.
Friday Evening Class
Sahaja Vinyasa & Yoga Trance Dance
Evolving since 1994, Yoga Trance Dance is a contemporary exploration of the spirit of dance within yoga. Beginning with sahaja vinyasa or the experience of prana initiating yogasanas, yoga trance dance flows into an exploration of free-form, breath driven movement to liberate one’s creative life force and cultivate embodied freedom.
Sunday Morning
Rhythmic Vinyasa - Syncing with the Natural Pulse
In Prana Flow, vinyasa is more than a technique but as a as a wave, a rhythmic cycle. Within yoga, understanding these cycles is key to creating flow within one's body and life. We'll do a practice dedicated to rhythmic syncopation within the body and in the collective to integrate the healing power of rhythm. We will learn methods developed within Prana Flow: Energetic Vinyasa to embody rhythmic vinyasa as a practice of optimal flow to a way of life.
Sunday Afternoon
PranaDandaYoga: Awakening the Inner Staff
with Shiva Rea and Demetri Velisarius
Our spine is the inner danda (staff) of our energy flow and the key to sacred alignment between the earth and sky, root and crown, our personal energy and the greater bio-field of life. This empowering movement flow is the evolutionary form of PranaDandaYoga developed with Demetri Velisarius and Shiva Rea from the base of pranaflow yoga. As a moving meditation, we will awaken the inner danda with an actual 5-foot outer staff in a grounded fluid method that includes core opening, standing asanas, twists, backbends, rhythmic kriyas and seated meditation to experience the inner spirit of the danda.
