New Moon - Ritual moonday Prayers
Our altar and prayers have our leaf from the Bodhi Tree pilgrimage site know as the Mahabodhi temple - the site of the original great-grandaughter Bodhi tree where Buddha was awakening. Demetri and I have both meditated and gone into prostration practice on the open prostration boards around the temple. A pilgrim was killed there and monks injured. It is hard to imagine this place bombed by extremist as it is a place of great peace and home to dozens and dozens of monasteries all over the world.
Even though in my body and in my home, I feel incredible joy and new inspiration this new moon, I feel there is so much to pray for from Bodh Gaya to Bodhnath (where the floods took place recently), Egypt to South Africa. We are now entering the Dakshinaya, the six-month period towards waning light in the Winter Solstice. We must bring the creativity and the destruction, love and devastation together and remember, and remember. Listening deep tonight as we prepare for our Prana Danda Teacher Training and first Exhale classes. The darshan for Pujya Swami will support the recent floods that effected 100,000 people and many sacred sites like Kedarnath and Bodnath.
Let us make space for this new moon wisdom and offer the joy fully for the living and the dead.
Please see our offerings this week at Exhale and beyond. India and Costa Rica, our fall and new year yogadventure-pilgrimages on the healing oceans is below.
